A large, pale gold, silk scrunchie made from genuine kimono obi belt material.
A few years ago I was in Kawagoe and came across a shop selling antiques and second hand traditional clothing. In amongst the items I found a beautiful red obi belt, with a pale gold lining. The belt had been stored folded for a long time and showed significant signs of wear at the folds.
The material feels quite thick. The width of the material is approx. 3inches. When laid flat, the piece is roughly 7inches across.
This scrunchie contains 1/4inch elastic, around 7inches in length, so the piece can be worn in the hair or comfortably on the wrist. As the material is fairly wide, it is a statement piece.
NOTE: This listing is for the sale of the scrunchie only. Nothing else in the images, such as the mannequin head, will be included.
While every effort has been taken to select non-damaged parts of the kimono, due to the nature of reclaimed fabric, there might be some slight marks on the material.
