In stock

There are many wonders to discover on Mt Nokogiri in the Chiba prefecture of Japan. This 30ft carving of the Goddess of Mercy (Hyaku-Shaku Kannon) is one of those wonders. Made in 1966 into the cliff, the Goddess was made in tribute to those who died in wars, of sickness or in accidents. It is also worshiped as a protector of transportation, and for this reason was visited by BBC’s Top Gear.

This item is 8×10 inches.
