Description
Hanami is a wonderful time to be in Japan. During this time people get together to welcome the spring with food and drink under the cherry blossom trees. The blossoms last a short time, especially if the wind is bad, which makes them extra special.
While living in Japan, I wanted to make sure I took in as many cherry blossoms as possible. One of the recommended spots was a garden in Tokyo – Koishikawa Korakuen. The garden had some specuatualar cherry blossom trees – but I was especially drawn to this one which stood in front of a lake. It’s large branches cast out wide, so when you stood underneath the blossoms scattered across the sky overhead.
